Now the town of Westfield has gone above and beyond, securing a coveted art installation that will surely bring a smile to many faces during these trying times. Downtown Westfield provides a fantastic family fun day with myriad shopping and dining options.
Now through March 21st, 2021, Westfield residents and visitors can experience the Impulse seesaws in downtown Westfield. These interactive seesaws have traveled across the country and around the globe. Does it look familiar? A similar seesaw art installation was featured on Pier 17 last March called "Variation O."
Described as a "publicly activated light and sound experience," these seesaws light up and emit randomized sound sequences when the seesaws move up and down. While this event sounds kid-centric, it's not! Anyone and everyone can enjoy the Impulse seesaws, either on the seesaws themselves or by standing nearby and taking in the beauty of the lights and sounds.
The Impulse seesaws are the main event of a much larger initiative called "Glo Downtown" which includes a Chocolate Tour, dining deals and shopping deals, all only available until the 21st. “While residents and visitors are in Town riding the seesaws, we want them to play, shop, and dine and enjoy the amazing offerings of our local businesses," said Bob Zuckerman, Executive Director of Downtown Westfield Corporation.

Getting to Westfield from NYC
Getting to and from Westfield from New York City is a breeze. NJ Transit offers both Bus and Train options out of Port Authority and Penn Station respectively. If you prefer to drive or take an Uber you'll only be on the road for roughly 45 minutes. There's ample options for parking, and enjoy free parking on Sunday downtown.
